GOVERNANCE

 Richmond United Methodist Church is part of the United Methodist Church. We are a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference. Every church in the United Methodist Church has an Annual Conference where the church leadership is elected for the following year, the budget approved and other needed actions are taken. There is someone elected to represent our church in the gathering of all United Methodist Churches in Eastern Pennsylvania at the Annual Conference. Each church in that area has a lay person as a representative and a clergy member who vote on legislation proposed by members of the Annual Conference. Every four years the United Methodist Church has what is called a General Conference where representatives of all Annual Conferences across the Globe meet to enact legislation to continue the work of the church.
